Swedavia’s Stockholm-Arlanda airport was in great need of replacing an outdated analog radio platform for communication between the tower and vehicles in the area of operation. Swedavia’s internal supplier of terrestrial radio platform is Swedavia Airport Telecom.
The assignment was to manage the entire project from requirement collection and design to production and approval by the Swedish Transportation Agency.
The project included extensive documentation work as well as rigorous tests and verifications. The project was a CNS (Communication, Navigation and Surveillance) project where Swedavia’s, LFV’s and the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations governed the entire project.
Clearpoint got the assignment at the end of 2017, decisive for Swedavia was the consultant’s high competence in digital ground radio as well as high competence in aerospace operations and air traffic management operations. During the assignment, several major changes were made to better meet high standards of quality and avilability. Following approval from the Swedish Transport Agency, the entire system was put into operational production in the spring of 2019.
